A Life of Sand, and Zooming In... And Out Again

by Anonymous

A Life of Sand

An old hand hovers above the sand.
Parchment skin, pronounced veins.
The hand descends.
And meets the sand.
Grabbing, collecting, holding.
Both the hand and the sand rise.
Birth.
The grains of sand slowly come together.
Molded into an intricate shape by the hand.
Youth.
The shape abides, young and proud.
A stretching hand, with a shape in its palm.
Age.
Grains of sand passing through fingers.
The shape eventually turns shapeless.
Demise.
The last grain falls back into nothingness.
An old hand hovers above the sand.
