Breathless
I watch her flying through the darkness
Majestic queen of her aquatic domain
The latest in a noble line that stretches through the ages
Honed by Nature with Darwin’s whetstone
Her ancestors took their place upon the pinnacle
Before man first discovered fire
Before the dinosaurs ruled the land
Before a fish first began to crawl upon the shore
They claimed the predators’ throne
I watch her flying through the darkness
This matriarch of the sharks
And I am left

Alone he sits
Peering through a glass portal
Delving into realms beyond mortal kenning
Finding a strange and mysterious world
Full of strange beasts never seen before
He is the first man to see these sights
The first visitor to this alien world
And he shall be the messenger
Bringing the news of this Alien Landscape
Enlightening humanity to the microscopic
